GLSEN
GLSEN is network of K-12 educators and students in the United States that advocates for and supports SOGI-inclusive education and environments. They provide amazing resources for students and educators, share materials for a number of student-led movements like Day of Silence and Ally Week, and they also do original research. GLSEN has been a constant resource for me ever since a group of students approached me about starting a local GSA at our local high school. Some of my go-to resources are the Day of Silence resources, the GLSEN Safe Space Kit, the GSA Jump-Start Guide, and the Local School Climate Survey. With access to educator guides, student resources, initiatives, and swag, GLSEN is truly a one-stop shop for SOGI information and resources. |
SD47 SOGI Committee
School District 47's SOGI Committee has done terrific work curating resources for educators. They believe that a committee of experts cannot bring change: "Change will come from a community of educators trying, learning, failing, and succeeding together" (SOGI Educator Network). To help support this change, the SOGI Committee has shared SOGI information and resources to help educators in their classroom and schools. |
SOGI 123 Network
The SOGI 123 website is the go to website for teachers and other educators in British Columbia seeking to create SOGI-inclusive schools. Their website is full of SOGI information, lesson plans, professional learning, resources, and much more. |
