Sexual Health
Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education
The Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education were designed to: "1) Guide educators and others in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive sexual health education activities to enhance sexual health and well-being and to prevent outcomes that can have a negative impact on sexual health and well-being; 2) Provide a framework for evaluating new and existing sexual health education activities/programs, policies, and related services available to people in Canada; and 3) Offer educators, program planners, and policy makers a clear understanding of the goals, key components, and settings for delivery of comprehensive sexual health education." |
Personal and Sexual Health Education
Nanaimo's Learning Team has done a fabulous job providing curriculum and curating resources for a comprehensive K-12 sexual health education plan for educators in their district. They have shared it on their public site for all educators to benefit and learn from. They've included a scope and sequence, lesson plans for both K-7 and 8-12, and lots of links to help support teachers as they teach students the skills and knowledge required to maintain healthy bodies, healthy relationships, a healthy body image, and to know what to do in unsafe situations. Highly recommended resource! |
